Alcool : les extraits aromatiques (amande, citron, menthe poivrée, rhum…) sont obtenus en dissolvant l'arôme dans l'alcool : l'alcool en fait partie. halal.ua exclut tout ingrédient contenant de l'alcool, et Darul Fatwa considère l'alcool comme impur (najis) et interdit toute substance enivrante, même en petite quantité : ils sont donc illicites (haram). Rien ne peut lever cela, car l'alcool est dans l'extrait lui-même. Les extraits étiquetés sans alcool sont halal.
